Invisalign® for children in Homestead
If your child is smiling less because they're not happy with their misaligned or crooked teeth, then the Invisalign treatment system may be the right solution for the problem. Invisalign can discreetly straighten your teeth without the discomfort or appearance of traditional metal braces. If you'd like more information about Invisalign, then call our Homestead office, and we can help you.
What Type of Treatment Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a type of braces that can straighten misaligned and crooked teeth so that you have straight, even teeth and a beautiful smile. Rather than the metal wires and brackets of traditional metal braces, Invisalign uses clear plastic aligner trays that gradually encourage your teeth into proper alignment. The clear trays are made of SmartTrack®, an FDA-approved, space-age plastic that's free of BPA, BPS, gluten, and latex. Since the trays are virtually invisible, no one will know that you're wearing them.
How Much Is the Cost for Invisalign in Homestead?
The Invisalign treatment usually costs about the same as traditional metal braces. Factors that will determine your Invisalign cost include the degree of correction you need, any additional orthodontic work you need, and the number of follow-up visits you'll need. Sometimes, patients who have insurance find that their plan includes Invisalign insurance, so check with your plan provider to determine the scope of your plan benefits. If you need Invisalign, but it's not in your budget or covered by insurance, then talk to us. We offer flexible payment plans that include financing at low interest rates as well as other options. Call us today to learn more about our financing options that will make the Invisalign cost affordable for you.
How Much Time Does It Take to Complete Invisalign Treatments?
If you decide to get Invisalign in Homestead, then your dentist will advise you of the projected time you'll need to complete the treatment. Usually, this happens during your initial consultation, and the average adult usually completes their treatment in about a year. However, depending on the degree of adjustment needed, it can be anywhere from ten months to two years, and you'll probably need to wear a nighttime retainer for a while. Most patients need Invisalign retainers for up to a year after their treatment. Call our Homestead office if you have more questions.
Are There Any Invisalign Dentists Near Me?
Any general dentist or orthodontist who has completed the Invisalign training can provide the Invisalign system to their patients. All the Invisalign dentists in our office have been trained by Invisalign, so any of them can provide you with this innovative system. To schedule an appointment with one of our Invisalign dentists or to get more information, give us a call.
Are There Any Advantages of Invisalign vs Braces?
One of the primary advantages of Invisalign vs braces is that the aligner trays are virtually invisible. Particularly for older teens or mature adults, the prospect of wearing unsightly and uncomfortable metal wires and brackets can prevent them from seeking the orthodontic treatments that they need. Invisalign's clear trays, however, provide an aesthetically pleasing alternative that's also considerably more comfortable.
Oral hygiene is better because you remove the trays before you eat, so food particles can't get stuck in them. For those who have mild to moderate orthodontic issues, the clear aligner trays usually work well. However, your dentist will recommend the best option for your unique needs.
Are There Specific Benefits to Invisalign?
Many of our patients consider the Invisalign system to be far superior to traditional metal braces for the following reasons:
- The trays are removable for special events, and they're virtually invisible.
- There are no dietary restrictions; you can eat your favorite foods.
- The trays are immeasurably more comfortable than traditional metal wires and brackets, so your mouth tissues will remain untouched.
- Your smile will be more beautiful when it's not encumbered by metal braces.
- There are fewer office visits. You'll only come to the office every four to six weeks.
Who Is a Good Invisalign Candidate?
Although the Invisalign system is very popular, not everyone is a good candidate for it. Generally, young children and younger teens aren't good candidates because their teeth and mouths are still developing. Those who have complicated orthodontic issues may respond better to another type of treatment.
How Will My Invisalign Treatments Alter My Lifestyle?
Since you remove the aligner trays before eating, there aren't any dietary restrictions when you're wearing the aligner trays. However, adhering to the following items can facilitate your treatment:
- Be sure to thoroughly clean your teeth and gums before reinserting the trays after eating.
- Avoid using tobacco products, including vaping, for the duration of your treatment because tobacco can stain your trays.
- Avoid chewing gum while wearing your trays since the gum can adhere to them and damage the trays.
Do I Need Special Maintenance for My Aligner Trays?
Your aligner trays don't need special adhesives or soaking solutions, but you should clean them daily using the Invisalign cleaning system, which you can purchase in our office.
Alternatively, you can rinse them in lukewarm or cool water and use a soft brush. Avoid hot water because it can damage the trays.
If your trays become damaged, cracked, or warped, replace them immediately. When a tray is damaged, it will not function properly, so it needs to be replaced immediately.
