Welcome to Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Plantation, your friendly, affordable dentists

At Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Plantation, our objective is to provide a fun and welcoming environment so that your child develops a positive association with the dentist's office. In addition, this will encourage the development of lifelong good oral hygiene habits that will provide better overall health for your child. Whether your child has an emergency or needs routine dental treatments, contact us for an appointment.

Our Office

We've decorated our office in bright, cheerful colors that appeal to children, and it's furnished with toys and chair-side televisions. Our dentists and hygienists love working with children and strive to make your child's dental experience enjoyable. They explain the procedure and what they'll be doing in simple language that your child can easily understand. We've learned that this simple step alleviates much of the stress and anxiety that can afflict both children and their parents during a dental procedure.

Our Dentists

All our dentists and orthodontists have special training in working with children who are as young as six months old. A pediatric dentist has a specialized degree (DDS or DMD first, then 2 years of residency training in pediatric dentistry) in understanding, diagnosing, and treating the oral health issues of children. Children as young as six months can begin to see a pediatric dentist, and they can continue to see a pediatric dentist until they are teenagers. As a general rule, many individuals will turn 18 and switch from a pediatric dentist to a general dentist. At this stage in life, children’s mouths and teeth are almost fully developed and they have often undergone orthodontics. You can be assured that your child will receive the best treatment possible from our staff of dentists, orthodontic specialists, and hygienists.

Our Techniques and Equipment

We maintain some of the most advanced technology in the area, including the iTero digital scanner, iTero Invisalign® simulation, digital radiography, electronic patient files, and televisions in every operatory. Our state-of-the-art equipment enables us to provide the best possible treatment to all our young patients, including those with special needs.

Our Pediatric Dental Procedures

We offer the following pediatric orthodontic and dental procedures to our patients:

  • Regular Checkups: We recommend that your child start receiving regular dental checkups when they're one year old. Your pediatric dentist will check for decay or disease and create care plans that ensure your child has the best oral health possible.
  • Dental Cleaning: No later than age three, your child should begin regular dental cleanings, and they should continue them throughout their lives. This will ensure not only good dental health but better overall health for their lifetimes.
  • Pediatric Dental X-rays: The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes that dental disease occurs in children and recommends that children receive dental x-rays during dental checkups. This can help diagnose and treat many dental irregularities before they escalate into more severe problems.
  • Periodontics: A periodontal checkup can diagnose and treat gum disease while it's still curable so that your child's teeth don't fall out and cause problems later in life.
  • Emergency Dental Services: If your child has a dental emergency, call our office without delay, whether it's a severe toothache, a broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth, or any other emergency. Often, we can save a tooth if we see the child soon enough, so keep our office number handy.
  • Special Needs: Our dentists and orthodontists are specially trained to provide for children with special needs. Caring for a special needs patient takes compassion and understanding. While most dentists can accommodate for special needs patients, our dentists focus on meeting the needs and working within the limitations of these patients, we coordinate special hours and operatories for their comfort.
  • Pediatric Anesthesia: We're trained in many types of pediatric anesthesia, and if your child needs hospital dental care with pediatric anesthesia, we can provide that. Our pediatric dentists can work closely with your child's pediatricians, oral surgeons, and anesthesiologists to ensure that your child receives the best care possible.
  • Braces: It's important for primary teeth to erupt correctly, and braces can facilitate that. We recommend that your child receive an orthodontic screening no later than seven years of age. Although treatment may not begin right away, we can develop a plan of action to ensure your child's teeth erupt properly.
  • Invisalign for Kids: Although we typically don't recommend Invisalign for younger children, many teens like the idea because the Invisalign trays are virtually invisible. Teens with severe malocclusion may not be suitable candidates for Invisalign, but there are alternatives that are much less obvious than traditional metal braces.
  • Retainers: Most children who wear braces will need to wear a retainer when the treatment has concluded. A retainer, which is usually worn only at night, keeps the teeth from reverting to their former position. We recommend a custom-fitted retainer that's specifically fitted to your child's mouth. Don't use an over-the-counter retainer because it won't fit correctly and won't work. There are several types of retainers, and we'll recommend the best type for your child after their braces treatment.

Payment Options

We know that dental procedures can be expensive and we don't want you to forego dental treatments for your child because of costs. We offer a variety of payment options that will help you afford the dental treatments you need, such as:

  • CareCredit: CareCredit is just like a regular credit card, except it can only be used for medical and dental expenses. We can process your application during your appointment, so be sure to ask about CareCredit.
  • Discount Dental Plans: Smile Alliance Club and Smile Alliance Club Plus are discount dental plans with several options for dental patients. All of them provide substantial savings on your dental procedures as well as prescriptions, vision, and more. Smile Alliance Club isn't dental insurance. Rather, it's a discount membership plan with an annual fee that covers the entire family, there are no exclusions, and coverage begins immediately upon receipt of payment. Ask us about it when you call.
  • Flexible Financing: We offer several flexible financing options that are tailored to your finances and specific needs. We want our patients to afford the dental care they need without worrying about finances, so ask us about financing when you call.
  • Insurance: We accept most dental insurance plans, and we'll work to ensure you receive the maximum benefits to which you're entitled.
  • Specials: Periodically, we offer specials on certain procedures, so ask us about our specials when you call, or you can check our website.
